Fantasy Golf: Betfred British Masters Draftkings Player Picks
By Hans Geevers
After a three week visit to Spain, the European Tour travels to England for the 2021 Betfred British Masters. This event will present the fantasy golf community with a decent field of talent that includes Thomas Detry, Robert MacIntyre, Andy Sullivan, and 2016 Masters champion Danny Willet. Let’s to take a look at this tournament from a fantasy golf perspective!
Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide a specific lineup. Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a Draftkings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Here are my fantasy golf/Draftkings player selections for this week’s 2021 Betfred British Masters.
Dean Burmester $10,000
The South African arrives at this week’s Betfred British Masters on the heels of two consecutive top four finishes on the European Tour, including a win at the Tenerife Open two weeks ago.
Burmester is currently ranked second in driving distance (315.70 yards) on the European Tour. Burmester’s length off the tee will certainly help him at this week’s event. The Belfry offers some very long par five holes.
Joachim B. Hansen $8,700
The 30 year old has three top 22 finishes in his last four tournaments played on the European Tour, including a ninth place result at the Qatar Masters in March.
Maximilian Kieffer $8,200
The 30 year old German has two top two finishes in his last three events played on the European Tour, including a second place result at the Austrian Open last month. In my opinion, Kieffer is on the verge of grabbing his first win on the European Tour. It’s just a matter of when.
Richie Ramsay $7,000
The 37 year old has three consecutive top 29 finishes on the European Tour, including a 23rd place result at the Canary Islands Championship last week.
Ramsay currently ranks 13th in driving accuracy (57.50%) on the European Tour.
Richard Bland $6,800
The Englishman has two top 27 finishes in his last three events on the European Tour, including an eighth place result at the Gran Canaria Lopesan Open last month.
It should also be noted that Bland played well the last time the Belfry hosted a golf tournament on the European Tour. Bland finished 19th at the 2020 UK Championship (hosted by the Belfry).
Additional golfers I like: Bernd Wiesberger $10,900: Calum Hill $9,000: Aaron Cockerill $6,900.
