2021 Byron Nelson: Pro Golf Now Staff Picks to Win
By Tim Letcher
The 2021 Byron Nelson is this week in McKinney, Texas, just north of Dallas. The event, named in honor of one of golf’s greatest players, annually draws a strong field of competitors.

This week is no different. Even with the withdrawal of world number one Dustin Johnson, there is plenty of firepower in the field. Jon Rahm, Jordan Spieth, Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka are among those entered this week.
The Pro Golf Now staff writers have made their picks and you can see them below.
Daniel Berger
West Valentine
My pick this week is a guy who feels like he might be ready to take his game to the next level: Daniel Berger. He has been in that second tier of talent on Tour for a while now and a win at the Nelson could vault him in to the Top 10 OWGR. He’s quietly been a very good player this year. Time to make some noise.
Bryson DeChambeau
Joey McCusker
Richie Randolph
Matt Fitzpatrick
Kasey Kuhrts
Brooks Koepka
Michael Ellis
After a solo 4th finish in 2019, the tournament was cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Koepka will look to round into form at the AT&T Byron Nelson as the PGA Championship nears later this month.
Marc Leishman
Jay Wilhelm
Ryan Palmer
Chris O’Day
Scottie Scheffler
Kathy Bissell
Josh Chandler
Jordan Spieth

Jordan Spieth broke his winless drought earlier this year with a win in San Antonio. My guess is that he will make it two wins in his home state this week by winning a tournament that’s near and dear to his heart, the Byron Nelson.
Mike Randleman
The AT&T Byron Nelson is a special tournament for Spieth. It’s where he made his PGA Tour debut as a high-schooler in 2010. At the ripe age of 16 he finished T-16th. The rest is history. The former Texas Longhorn was on the brink of falling outside the top 100 in the world in January. He’s now inside the top 30 and is inching close to the form that helped him win three majors at a young age. Now, he’s looking to find a groove once again the week before a major.
Lee Westwood
Bill Felber
I’m going to take Lee Westwood this week. I do not think any of the big names are going to win in the week ahead of a major. Beyond that, a Westwood victory would be a great human interest story, given his caddie and his comeback. I am a sucker for those stories.
Will Zalatoris
DJ Cadden
Dalton Finkbeiner
Coming off his impressive Master finish, it feels like it’s only a matter of time before Will Zalatoris gets his first PGA Tour win. He is one of the best ball strikers on tour already and if he can get the putter to cooperate, I think he has a chance to win. He also grew up in Texas so playing in some wind should not be a problem.
