K.H. Lee – The South Korean won for the first time on the PGA Tour by claiming the title this week. Lee was solid all week and actually pulled away from the field on Sunday, winning by three shots.
Patton Kizzire – He shot a 63 on Sunday to move up 22 spots and into a tie for third. If not for a 71 on Saturday, Kizzire might have won this week. Still, it was the highest finish of the season for Kizzire.
Sam Burns – Sure, it was disappointing for Burns not to finish this one off after holding the 54-hole lead. But a win and a solo second in three weeks is not bad. Burns also moved up to fifth in the FedEx Cup standings.
Daniel Berger – Some thought prior to the event that Berger could win. But after a 69-67 start, he barely made the cut. However, his 64 on Sunday moved him up 15 spots and into a tie for third.
Scott Stallings – A 63-66 weekend allowed Stallings to move into a tie for third place. It also moved him up 35 spots in the FedEx Cup standings. Stallings is now in 102nd place in those standings.
Losers
Brooks Koepka – This was supposed to be a warm-up for Koepka as he prepares for next week’s PGA Championship. Instead, he shot 71-70 and was not close to making the weekend.
Rickie Fowler – He opened the week with a 67 on Thursday but a 72 on Friday left him outside the cut line. The struggle continues for Fowler this season.
Sergio Garcia – Much like Fowler, Garcia started well with a 65 on Thursday. But he shot a 75 on Friday to miss the cut.
Matt Fitzpatrick – Another player that some had a chance to win this week. Instead, Fitzpatrick shot 72-70 to miss the cut. Not what he was hoping for this week.
Ryan Palmer – He started Sunday’s round in a tie for 15th place. After shooting a 75, Palmer slipped into a tie for 47th place. For a guy who holds the course record, this is not what he expected this week.
