But the tournament is not over yet. There are still 18 tough holes to play at the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island and anything can happen in a major. If Mickelson doesn’t win, who could beat him? Here’s a list of five players would could do so on Sunday.

Brooks Koepka – He’s won the PGA Championship twice before, so he won’t be intimidated by the moment. And, he appears to be healthy and playing back at the top of his game. Koepka is very much in the mix here.

Louis Oosthuizen – He has won a major and always seems to be hanging around the lead in the biggest tournaments. Oosthuizen is hoping that he got the “bad” round out of his system on Saturday and that he can mount a rally in the final round.

Branden Grace – This is a man who holds the record for lowest round ever shot in a major (a 62 at the Open Championship in 2017). He has been steady this week at Kiawah, shooting 70-71-72, so he’s definitely got a chance to be a factor in Sunday’s final round.

Bryson DeChambeau – If the conditions are right on Sunday, and DeChambeau is able to bomb and gouge his way around the Ocean Course, he could come from five shots back to win. Things would definitely have to fall in his favor but this is another major champion who is playing at the top of his game.

Phil Mickelson – That’s right, Lefty could beat himself. Mickelson has always been a go-for-broke player and, in certain situations, it has cost him. If he can resist trying to be the Phil of old on Sunday, it would help him. If he can’t, he may just beat himself.
