The 2021 Memorial Tournament gets underway on Thursday just outside of Columbus, Ohio. The field this week is strong, which should make for an exciting event.

Hans Geevers

Patrick Cantlay

Joey McCusker

Bryson DeChambeau

Chris O’Day

Tony Finau

Michael Ellis

This a track that sets up well for Finau and his past starts here tell the tale of the tape. I like Finau to notch his first win of the season.

Viktor Hovland

Josh Chandler

West Valentine

I don’t like any of the favorites the week. Speith, Rahm, and McIlroy have all shown huge holes in their games lately. I’m going with Viktor Hovland. He has a great game and attitude. He’s got the game for this course, and he’s due. Why not?

Rory McIlroy

Kathy Bissell

Collin Morikawa

Jay Wilhelm

Jon Rahm

Richie Randolph

Mike Randleman

Jon Rahm is back to defend his Memorial Tournament title. He missed the cut in his 2017 debut and posted a lackluster T-27th at the Workday Charity Open. He found something with a Sunday 64 at the Workday. When the conditions got tougher for the Memorial, so did Rahm. The Spaniard improved his score by only two shots on the same course from the week prior, but it was good enough to win by three over his Zurich Classic partner, Ryan Palmer. That even came with a two-shot penalty when his ball moved before he chipped in on No. 16. The grounds crew was able to let Memorial bake out last year with renovations coming immediately that summer. That may not be the case this year, but it’s still a tough test of golf that Rahm’s game suits.

Tim Letcher

He is the defending champion and, when he digs deep, he might be the best player in the world. I think Rahm will be in the mix on Sunday, when he’s known for closing, and will successfully defend his title and earn another handshake with Jack Nicklaus.
