Before I jump into this week’s tournament, I wanted to do a quick recap for the the Memorial. My three dark horses were Stewart Cink, Henrik Norlander, and Troy Merritt. Norlander missed the cut and overall never had a chance. Merritt had a rough start, but came back in rounds two and three, only to throw it all away on Sunday with a 6-over round. Cink had a good first and final round, but his second was 2-over and a rough third round, which was 5-over. On a positive note, both of these guys made the cut, which is big plus in DFS.

This week, the PGA Tour is heading to Congaree Golf Club in Ridgeland, South Carolina for the Palmetto Championship. This is a first time event, which means there is not a whole lot of information when trying to decide who can play well here. This is also not the greatest field, which makes me believe that anyone could have a fair shot at contending here.

This week I will be providing three dark horses, meaning players that are longshots, but could play really well for their low salary. These dark horses are golfers that are $7,500 and below. Also I use DraftKings, so these prices will be for their website, but the players can be used on FanDuel as well.

Dark Horse Number 1

Joseph Bramlett ($7,100) – Not playing the best overall, but also not the worst either. Bramlett is one of my dark horses because he does have some decent finishes despite the few missed cuts. He also is 71st in SG Around the Green and 53rd in SG Off the Tee. He is also only $7,100 and has flashed some upside this season with a 7th, 34th, 13th, and an 18th, all in 2021. He is definitely a high risk player, but if he gets hot here he can have a high ceiling.

SG Around the Green: 71st

Birdie or Better Percentage: 109th

SG Off the Tee: 53rd

Dark Horse Number 2

Hank Lebioda ($6,900) – Lebioda is another one of my dark horses, because I like to ride a hot streak. He only has one decent stat lining up for this course (SG Approach), but I can’t look away from a 17th, 51st, and a 13th for a $6,900 player. Besides those finishes he does not flash a ton of upside, but if he can find his way through the cut and in the 30’s, it should make for a solid week.

Dark Horse Number 3

Bronson Burgoon ($7,200) – Even though the key stats might not be that impressive, the recent finishes are what makes Bronson Burgoon one of my dark horses. He has been on and off each week, but in his last five finishes, two of them are inside the top 15. His best stats are SG ATG (66th) and SG OTT (66th), which is not to bad for a $7,200 player in DFS. Definitely one of the value guys that I feel more confident plugging into my lineups with his high upside.
