The FedEx Cup playoffs will be here before we know it and the jockeying for positions continues all season long. We’re taking a look at those close to the cut line for getting in the playoffs, staring with No. 117, Justin Rose.

Rose is a former major champion, a Ryder Cup participant and is generally considered one of the better players in the world. But he has not had a good season on the PGA Tour this year.

Currently ranked 44th in the Official World Golf Rankings, Rose has struggled on tour this season. He has made 10 cuts in 14 starts but has just two Top 10 finishes on the campaign.

He missed the cut at the U.S. Open in September, then was T52 at the CJ Cup at Shadow Creek. Rose was T17 at the Zozo Championship, then finished T23 at the Masters in November.

Rose missed the cut at the RSM Classic to finish the 2020 portion of the season. He didn’t play on tour again until the end of February, when he was T54 at the WGC-Workday Championship.

He withdrew at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, then took a month off prior to the April Masters. He finished seventh at the Masters, which is his best finish of the season.

Rose was T11 at the Zurich Classic, where he played with Henrik Stenson. He missed the cut at the Valspar Championship.

At the PGA Championship, Rose played well, finishing T8. He was T20 at the Charles Schwab Challenge.

He then missed the cut at the U.S. Open before finishing T36 at the Travelers Championship. He did play well early in Connecticut before fading.

Rose needs to get things in gear pretty quickly. He’s dangerously close to the 125 mark that would leave him outside of the playoffs this season. There’s time left for Rose but he is in need of some quality finishes down the stretch.
