Harris English Wins Travelers Championship in Marathon to Stay Hot
It’s not often the tournaments book ending a major are this dramatic or have this caliber of a field. This year’s Travelers Championship bucked that trend. A handful of top players and major champions made the trip to Connecticut, but Harris English prevailed in the end.

Bubba Watson faltered as the day went on, Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, Dustin Johnson, and others were non-factors. Marc Leishman made a charge up the leader board, but fell short.
The first Sunday after the US Open was owned by Harris English and Kramer Hickok as they went to a playoff. While I don’t think many expected this pair to be the last men standing, but they had no problem grabbing the popcorn to watch the sword fight.
English and Hickok pretty much matched each other shot for shot. Once the playoff reached the 7th hole of sudden death, the drama hit its peak.
Playing only the 18th hole for the rest of the playoff, English and Hickok both hit their tee shots into the left bunker and would par. On the final hole, both had tremendous luck getting great bounces back to the fairway.
The crowd was very clearly behind Kramer Hickok, a sentiment English was not phased by. English stepped up and made about a 15-foot putt for birdie, the only outcome other than a par throughout the entirety of the playoff, to sink the final dagger.
This was the fourth win for the man form Valdosta, Georgia, and has added to what has been a very solid two weeks for him. English had his best career finish at a major last week at Torrey Pines, grabbing a solo 3rd place in San Diego.
English has a lot of momentum on his side now heading into The Open Championship, golf’s final major of the year. He’ll need it when we go to Royal St. George’s next month.
