This week, the PGA Tour presents the fantasy golf community with the 2021 Rocket Mortgage Classic. Full transparency, this week’s field will be rather weak in overall talent. However, the field does include 2021 PGA Championship winner Phil Mickelson, 2021 Masters champion Hideki Matsuyama, and the defending champion of the Rocket Mortgage Classic, Bryson DeChambeau.

Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide a specific lineup. Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a Draftkings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Here are my fantasy golf/Draftkings player selections for the 2021 Rocket Mortgage Classic.

Bryson DeChambeau $11,400

DeChambeau has played nine tournaments on the PGA Tour since the beginning of March. In those nine events just mentioned, Bryson DeChambeau has accumulated five top 19 finishes, including a win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2021 Rocket Mortgage Classic field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, DeChambeau ranks first in strokes gained off the tee, fifth in GIR (greens in regulation), fourth in strokes gained ball striking, and third in total Draftkings points scored.

Hideki Matsuyama $10,400

The 29 year old has three top 26 finishes in his last five tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a win at the 2021 Masters in April.

I mentioned earlier in this article that this week’s field is NOT the strongest from a talent perspective. Having stated that, Hideki Matsuyama is without a doubt one of the best skilled golfers in this week’s 2021 Rocket Mortgage Classic field. Hideki will certainly be in a good portion of my Draftkings lineups this week.

It should also be noted that Matsuyama finished 13th at the 2019 Rocket Mortgage Classic.

Kevin Kisner $8,500

Kisner fired a bogey free final round 63 at last week’s Travelers Championship en route to a fifth place finish. Additionally, Kisner finished fifth at the 2020 Rocket Mortgage Classic.

Kyle Stanley $7,600

The 26 year old finished 14th at the Valero Texas Open in April. He followed up that quality result with an eighth place finish at the Charles Schwab Challenge in May. Stanley also finished 21st at the 2019 Rocket Mortgage Classic.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2021 Rocket Mortgage Classic field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Stanley ranks second in GIR (greens in regulation), sixth in strokes gained tee to green, and first in strokes gained ball striking.

Sepp Straka $7,700

Yes, I know that Sepp Straka has had his struggles on the PGA Tour this year. However, I also know that Straka finished tenth at last week’s Travelers Championship.

Straka also checks the box for me when it comes to event history. Let me be more specific. Straka has played the Rocket Mortgage Classic twice since 2019. In those two events just mentioned, Straka has two top 11 finishes, including an eighth place result at the 2020 Rocket Mortgage Classic. In my opinion, Straka’s game fits the Detroit Golf Club’s track perfectly.

Additional golfers I like this week: Jason Kokrak $9,500: Adam Hadwin $7,500: Mark Hubbard $7,300: Austin Eckroat $6,700.
