The FedEx Cup playoffs will be here before we know it and the jockeying for positions continues all season long. We’re taking a look at those close to the cut line for getting in the playoffs and the subject of this article is No. 121, Brian Stuard.

Stuard has played in a whopping 28 events this season and has made 15 cuts. He has three Top 25 finishes and one Top 10. That came in his first event of the year, the Safeway Open, where Stuard finished T3.

Two weeks later, Stuard was T33 at the Corales Puntacana Championship. But after that, he ran into some trouble, missing the cut at the Sanderson Farms, the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open and the Bermuda Championship.

He closed the 2020 portion of his schedule with a T50 at the Houston Open, another T50 at the RSM Classic and a missed cut at the Mayakoba. Still, he was 75th in the FedEx Cup standings at that point.

As the calendar turned to 2021, Stuard played a little better. He was T47 at the Sony Open and T47 at the American Express. After missing the cut at the Farmers Insurance Open, he was T58 at the Phoenix Open.

Stuard had a nice showing at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, where he finished T16. But he followed that with missed cuts at the Genesis Invitational and the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

His best finish since then has been a T18 at the RBC Heritage. Last week at the Travelers Championship, Studard finished T30.

This is another player who is living off of one really good finish. Stuard plays a lot, increasing the chances of him having another good finish. If he has one more Top 10, that will likely be enough to secure his spot in the playoffs.
