Most of this year’s Major Championships have been played, with just the Open Championship left to be played. This means we are approaching the end of the regular season, making it a good time as any to check in on the FedEx Cup Standings.

A win can do wonders for your season, and two gives you a fantastic head start on making it all the way to the Tour Championship. Only the top 30 players make it, but earning those two regular-season wins will get you there. Take a look at last year, and you can see that it’s enough to guarantee you a spot in the final. Adam Long finished with 950 points last season as well as the 31st spot.

Sitting in second in the FedEx Cup is the most recent PGA Tour winner, Harris English.

You wouldn’t expect it unless you were paying close attention to the FedEx Cup standings, but Harris English is actually second this year in the rankings.

Sitting 125 points behind the leader, Patrick Cantlay, English has ridden those two wins and seven top-tens to a career-best $5.5 million in earnings. With a lot of golf left, he has a chance to finish with a very impressive bankroll.

The only one in the top ten without a win is Xander Scahuffele. Sitting in 8th place, he is 478 points back of Cantlay. It shows you how well he has been playing to be ranked that high without a win. The same goes for Louis Oosthuizen (13), Abraham Ancer (16), and Scottie Scheffler (20), the other three in the top 20 without a win.

If Kramer Hickok would’ve been able to earn the win over English, he would’ve lept all the way from 139th (out of the playoffs) to 47th. With the second-place win, he still climbed to 69th, and now has a strong shot at making it through the first playoff event.

There weren’t a lot of other big movers this week, although Brice Garnett jumped from 133rd to 109th, and Hank Lebioda went from 141st to 114th. The cutoff is 125 for the FedEx Cup, so a late jump like this can extend their season, and anything can happen in that first playoff event.

Other than Harris English and Jason Kokrak (10th), the top ten has all the big names you would expect and looks like this, with points behind in parenthesis.

  1. Patrick Cantlay (2,014)
  2. Harris English (-125)
  3. Jon Rahm (-191)
  4. Bryson DeChambeau (-212)
  5. Jordan Spieth (-272)
  6. Justin Thomas (-306)
  7. Viktor Hovland (-384)
  8. Xander Schauffele (-435)
  9. Collin Morikawa (-478)
  10. Jason Kokrak (-503)
