This week, the PGA Tour travels to Kent, England for the 2021 Open Championship! The final major championship of the year will present fantasy golf fans with a stacked field of talent including 2020 Masters champion Dustin Johnson, defending Open champion Shane Lowry, and 2021 U.S. Open winner John Rahm.

Full transparency, my picks last week were certainly not my best. Unfortunately, fantasy golf is extremely volatile. In my opinion, the key to long term financial success in DFS golf is to believe in the process! Having stated that, let’s take a look at this week’s Open Championship from a Draftkings perspective.

Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide a specific lineup. Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a Draftkings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Here are my fantasy golf/Draftkings player picks for this week’s 2021 Open Championship!

Patrick Cantlay $8,900

The 29 year old has accumulated three consecutive top 15 finishes on the PGA Tour, including an impressive win at the Memorial Tournament in May.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2021 Open Championship field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Cantlay ranks first in bogey avoidance, second in GIR (greens in regulation), and sixth in strokes gained around the green.

It should also be noted that Cantlay finished 12th at the 2018 Open Championship.
