The 2021 Open Championship is through three rounds and it’s still wide open. There are a number of players within striking distance of the lead through 54 holes.

There are players who can win on Sunday and those who can’t. Here’s a look at five players who could lift the Claret Jug at the end of Sunday’s round.

Louis Oosthuizen – After playing brilliantly through two rounds, Oosthuizen was not the same on Saturday. Still, he maintains the 54-hole lead at the Open. His experience of having been in this position before will help him on Sunday. Plus, he’s a past Open champion, something that also helps.

Collin Morikawa – He’s already a major champion and is looking for his second major title in just eight major starts. Nothing seems to phase the talented youngster and being among those in focus on Sunday will not, either. Look for Morikawa to be in the mix until the very end.

Jordan Spieth – He has won three major titles in his career but none in four years. Now, he finds himself in position to do it again. A win here would cap his resurgence this season and, once again, place his name among the best golfers in the world.

Scottie Scheffler – The defending PGA Tour Rookie of the Year is in the mix to win his first major title. He’s got the game and the thought here is that he can handle the pressure. He will need some breaks on Sunday to get to the top, but it’s definitely possible.

Jon Rahm – The U.S. Open champion finds himself five shots back with one round left to play. He has been known to mount Sunday comebacks before and he will need a big one in the final round here to win. But he’s the best player in the world right now, so it’s certainly possible.
