The race for the FedEx Cup playoffs is nearly over but several spots have not yet been determined. At the Wyndham Championship this week, the final spots in the postseason will be secured.

There are a number of players on the bubble to get into the playoffs. We will break down those players this week as we look at the PGA Tour Bubble Boys.

Matt Kuchar checks in just inside the cut line at No. 124 with one event left before the playoffs. To say that this is a new position for Kuchar would be an understatement.

He has never missed the FedEx Cup playoffs. In fact, he has only been close to missing the postseason once since its inception in 2007. Kuchar was 115th in 2008. Since then, he has never finished lower than 76th in the final FedEx Cup standings.

So Kuchar enters the Wyndham Championship with some work to do to ensure his postseason spot. This season, Kuchar has started 23 times, made 11 cuts, missed 11 cuts and withdrawn once. Out of his 11 cuts made, Kuchar has been inside the Top 25 in four events with one Top 10.

That Top 10 came at the WGC-Match Play event in March, where Kuchar finished third. He followed that with a T12 at the Valero Texas Open and things appeared to be headed in the right direction for the veteran.

However, his play of late has been poor, at best.

It started with a missed cut at the PGA Championship. Kuchar did make the cut at the Charles Schwab, but he finished T50.

Since then, Kuchar has failed to make the weekend in any of his five starts. He withdrew at the Memorial Tournament in early June. He then missed the cut at the U.S. Open, the Open Championship, the 3M Open and the Barracuda Championship.

Now, Kuchar needs to at least make the cut if he wants to make the postseason. But the way things are going, that may be a tall task for Kuchar this week.
