For the most part, the familiar bunch of stars ascended their way near the top of the leaderboard at the Northern Trust on Friday. However, a handful of big names fell down the leaderboard.
This article will take a look at the biggest movers in the projected FedEx Cup standings.
Risers
Tony Finau – Finau has been a staple near the top of PGA Tour leaderboards, but has not emerged victorious since 2016. However, after a 7-under par 64, Finau finds himself at No. 2 on both the leaderboard and in the projected FedEx Cup standings.

Alex Noren – Entering the week at No. 92 in the FedEx Cup standings, Noren needed a strong performance to force his way into next week’s BMW Championship. After firing a second round 64, the Sweden native sits at No. 52 in the projected standings.
Tom Hoge – Sitting at No. 108 to start the week, Hoge needed a huge performance to even have a chance of advancing to the BMW Championship. A bogey-free 64 pushed Hoge into a tie for sixth and slots him at No. 62 in the projected standings.
Fallers
Matthew Wolff – Wolff had seemingly captured a wave of momentum towards the end of the regular season, however he has seemingly lost all of it. Wolff fired a 74 on Thursday, followed by a 76 on Friday. After the disappointing performance, Wolff now sits at No. 70 in the projected standings and will have to await his fate.
Matt Fitzpatrick – Fitzpatrick flirted with the cut line throughout the first two rounds, however four bogeys on the back nine Friday sabotaged his chances. The 3-over par posted by Ftizpatrick was not enough to make the weekend and slides the youngster to No. 72 in the projected standings.
Tyrell Hatton – At No. 14 in the Official World Golf Rankings, the expectations for Hatton remain high. However, after missing the cut at 2-over par, Hatton fell to No. 73 in the projected FedEx Cup standings and will nervously await the final standings.
