Saturday at The Northern Trust saw some players skyrocket up the leaderboard, while a handful of players struggled to gain momentum.

This article will take a look at the biggest movers in the projected FedEx Cup standings.

Risers

Erik Van Rooyen – Van Rooyen, who captured his first career win just two weeks ago, was arguably Saturday’s biggest winner. A 9-under par 62 moved Rooyen from outside the BMW Championship cutline to inside the top-25 of the projected FedEx Cup standings.

Pat Perez – Entering the week at No. 111 in the FedEx Cup standings, Perez needed a miracle to extend his 2021 playoffs. A second consecutive round of 66 moved Perez into a tie for 17th and gives him a fighting chance to advance.

Cameron Smith – Sitting at 7-under par after the first two rounds, Smith was already in good position to gain a few FedEx Cup spots. The mullet-sporting Aussie shot a stunning 11-under par 60 to move him into a tie for the lead and No. 2 in the projected standings.

Fallers

JT Poston – While Poston missed the cut this week, he still sat at No. 70 in the FedEx Cup standings. However, after strong performances across the board, Poston sits on the outside looking in to the BMW Championship.

Andrew Putnam – Despite shooting just 3-under par during the first two rounds, Putnam gave himself a chance to reach the top-70. Unfortunately, Putnam recorded a 1-over par round on Saturday which slides him to No. 82 in the projected standings.

Kevin Streelman – Currently No. 53 in the official standings, Streelman simply needed a middle of the pack performance to advance to next week’s BMW Championship. A bogey-riddled day kept Streelman from making any moves up the leaderboard and pushed him to No. 61 in the projected standings. Although Streelman should still advance, his seat became a tad bit warmer.
