The 2021 BMW Championship begins on Thursday with a stacked field. The world’s best players will all be trying to advance to next week’s Tour Championship in Atlanta.

With so many outstanding players in the field, there are plenty of options from which to choose. Our staff writers have made their picks and you can see them below.

Harris English

Savannah Richardson

While it may be a long shot that he would win, my gut tells me to go with Harris English for the win. The guy is second to Jon Rahm in strokes gained through their last 20 rounds at 2.42. Not to mention he’s got three top five finishes in the last five tournaments. Guy is playing some incredible golf right now and it could be his week to shine.

Max Homa

Bill Felber

Max Homa enters the BMW in 30th position on eh FedEx Cup list. He’s been playing well lately, he needs a big week to make the Tour Championship, and I think he’ll deliver.

Rory McIlroy

Josh Chandler

The 2021 Wells Fargo Champion should be able to unleash one of his biggest strengths this week with his Driver, as early reports suggest distance off the tee could play a huge factor at Caves Valley this week. Mcllroy ranks 2nd in driving distance for the season and he even has gained strokes putting on Bentgrass greens, often having been let down by the flat stick this year. If Mcllroy can combine his elite strength off the tee with his recent success striking the ball he could be set up for a big week.

Collin Morikawa

Joey McCusker

Kevin Na

Kasey Kuhrts

Jon Rahm

DJ Cadden

Mike Randleman

If you were to poll most fans as the final group made the turn in the final round at The Northern Trust, an overwhelming majority would have rode with Jon Rahm to close it out. Myself included. The world No. 1 appeared to be in cruise control with a 2-under back nine giving him a two-shot lead for large stretches. Birdies on No. 12 and 13 at Liberty National really made it feel like his week. Then a wayward drive on 15 sent Rahm spiraling. A bogey there and a disappointing par on the drivable par-4 16th quickly submarined his chances. It didn’t help that Cameron Smith and Tony Finau both lit up on the back nine to create a playoff between the two. Rahm settled for solo third place. Rounds of 63-67-67-69 are far from disappointing, though, especially considering this is the Spaniard’s first event since The Open after testing positive for COVID-19 for the second time before the Olympics. He would have loved to pick up the free FedEx Cup points he missed out on at the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational. Fortunately, he’s still in a great position to win all the cash sitting second in the points behind Finau.

Tim Letcher

He’s just the best player in the world right now. That is all. He should have won last week and didn’t. He’ll get his revenge this week.

Cameron Smith

West Valentine

I know Cam Smith was a little up and down, but I like him at the BMW. I also think Justin Thomas is ready to win again. My official pick is the Aussie with the mullet. The way the best in the world are playing right now, East Lake could be a barn burner.
