Tour Championship: Five Who Could Win on Sunday
By Tim Letcher
The Tour Championship has just 18 holes to go, with Patrick Cantlay in the lead at East Lake. While Cantlay appears to be the favorite to win with just one round to play, there are other players in the mix. Here are the players who can win the Tour Championship on Sunday.
Patrick Cantlay – It just makes sense that he’s among this group. He won last week and entered this event with two-shot advantage on the field. He hasn’t done anything to lose that lead and he heads to Sunday with a two-shot lead.

Jon Rahm – Some will argue that Rahm should be the PGA Tour Player of the Year. The only way that happens, in all likelihood, is if he rallies from two shots back to win on Sunday. Rahm has shot the best score so far this week but he still trails Cantlay by two.
Justin Thomas – He started Saturday’s round seven shots behind Cantlay and in fourth place. But a 5-under par 65 got the young standout within five shots with one round to play. It’s probably not enough for Thomas to actually get into the mix, but if Cantlay slips up just a bit, you never know.
Kevin Na – No one really saw this one coming this week but other than Rahm, Na has shot the best score this week at East Lake. Still, he started so far back (eight shots) that finding himself anywhere near the lead is quite an accomplishment. If he goes really, really low on Sunday, maybe he can get there.
Abraham Ancer – Yes, he’s starting 10 shots behind on Sunday. No, he probably has no real chance. But, but, but…Let’s say Ancer shoots 62 on Sunday. And let’s say Cantlay and Rahm struggle. And Thomas has less than his best. Then maybe, maybe, there’s a chance for Ancer. But probably not.
