Americans Dominate Again – As they did on Friday, the American team enjoyed great success. On Saturday morning, the Americans won three of the four points, then Team USA took two of the four points in the afternoon. It all added up to an 11-5 American advantage with only the Sunday singles remaining.
Johnson/Morikawa Have Success – Dustin Johnson and Collin Morikawa won a point on Friday morning. Then the duo won two points on Saturday. And they did so in dominating fashion. They won 2&1 in the morning, then 4&3 in the afternoon. The veteran and the rookie at 3-0-0 together during this week’s event.
Spaniards Having Success – World number one Jon Rahm and countryman Sergio Garcia are 3-0-0 for the European side this week. That’s three of the five total points that the Euros have earned in the competition. If not for Rahm and Garcia, this may be a bigger blowout than it already is.
Xander Keeps Rolling – Xander Schauffele has already won the Olympic gold medal this year. Now, he’s having a very good weekend in his first Ryder Cup. Schauffele has played in three matches and won all three. He sat out Saturday afternoon, taking a well-deserved rest.
A Likeable DeChambeau – For all of his faults, Bryson DeChambeau has been great this week. Both on the course and in his demeanor. DeChambeau paired with Scottie Scheffler on Saturday afternoon, earning his second point by beating the European team of Tommy Fleetwood and Viktor Hovland 3&1. This is a Bryson we can all get behind.
