After a one week break for the Ryder Cup, the PGA Tour returns to the golf schedule with the Sanderson Farms Championship. Fantasy golf enthusiasts will be presented with a quality field of  golfers that includes 2017 Masters champion Sergio Garcia. Let’s take a look at this week’s Sanderson Farms Championship from a DFS/fantasy golf perspective.

Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact lineup for a specific fantasy provider. Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Here are my fantasy golf/DFS player picks for the 2021 Sanderson Farms Championship.

Sergio Garcia

The 41 year old Spaniard arrives at this week’s Sanderson Farms Championship on the heels of two consecutive top ten finishes on the PGA Tour, including a sixth place result at the 2021 BMW Championship five weeks ago.

In relation to this week’s current listed Sanderson Farms Championship field, in the last eight rounds played on the PGA Tour, Sergio Garcia ranks second in strokes gained off the tee, tenth in GIR (greens in regulation), 13th in bogey avoidance, and fifth in strokes gained ball striking.

It should also be noted that Garcia is the defending champion of this week’s Sanderson Farms Championship.

Mito Pereira

Mito Pereira arrives at this week’s PGA Tour event in rather good form. More specifically, Pereira has accumulated three top six finishes in his last four tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a third place result at the Fortinet Championship earlier this month.

In relation to this week’s current listed Sanderson Farms Championship field, in the last eight rounds played on the PGA Tour, Mito Pereira ranks second in strokes gained tee to green, sixth in GIR (greens in regulation), and third in bogey avoidance.

Charley Hoffman

The 44 year old American has accumulated two top 22 finishes in his three tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a 21st place result at the 2021 Northern Trust in August.

In relation to this week’s current listed Sanderson Farms Championship field, in the last eight rounds played on the PGA Tour, Charley Hoffman ranks ninth in GIR (greens in regulation) and tenth in scrambling.

Additionally, I like the fact that Charley Hoffman has performed well at the Sanderson Farms Championship in the past. Hoffman finished sixth at the 2020 Sanderson Farms Championship.

Aaron Wise

The talented young American arrives at this week’s PGA Tour event on the heels of two consecutive top 21 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a 17th place result at the BMW Championship a four weeks ago.

Wise also finished 17th at the 2020 Sanderson Farms Championship.

Adam Schenk

Full transparency, Schenk’s results on the PGA Tour have been inconsistent this year. However, Schenk has shown glimpses of outstanding play in 2021. Schenk finished 18th at the 2021 Valspar Championship in May and fourth at the 2021 John Deere Classic in July. In my opinion, Schenk’s game is perfect for the course he will play this week in Mississippi.

Additional golfers I like this week: Will Zalatoris: Kevin Tway.
