Fantasy Golf: Shriners Hospitals For Children Open DFS Player Picks
By Hans Geevers
This week, the PGA Tour presents fantasy golf enthusiasts with the Shriners Hospitals For Children Open. Let’s take a look at this week’s PGA Tour event from a fantasy golf perspective!
Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact lineup for a specific fantasy provider. Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Here are my fantasy golf/DFS player picks for this week’s Shriners Hospitals For Children Open.
Kevin Streelman
Since the beginning of May, Kevin Streelman has played 12 tournaments on the PGA Tour. In the 12 events just mentioned, Streelman has accumulated seven top 26 finishes, including a seventh place result at the 2021 Wyndham Championship in August.
In relation to this week’s current listed Shriners Hospitals For Children Open field, in the last 36 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Kevin Streelman ranks tenth in driving accuracy, 13th in GIR (greens in regulation), and first in proximity to the hole from 100-125 yards.
Yes, I know that Kevin Streelman has missed the cut in the last two Shriners Hospitals For Children Open events he has played. However, I also know that Streelman can perform at a high level at TPC Summerlin. Streelman finished second at the 2014 Shriners Hospitals For Children Open.
Luke List
The 36 year old has accumulated three top 17 finishes in his last seven tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a fifth place result at the 2021 Barbasol Championship in July.
Luke List also checks the box for me when it comes to previous event/course history. List has played the Shriners Hospitals For Children Open four times since 2016. In those four tournaments just mentioned, List has accumulated three top 20 finishes, including a 13th place result at the 2019 Shriners Hospitals For Children Open.
Martin Laird
Laird finished 28th at the 2021 John Deere Classic in July. In relation to the field at the John Deere Classic, after four rounds of play, Laird ranked second in GIR (greens in regulation-79.2%).
I also like the fact that Laird has played well at TPC Summerlin in the past. Since 2009, Laird has accumulated six top 28 finishes at the Shriners Hospitals For Children Open, including two wins (2008, 2020).
Peter Malnati
The 34 year old American fired a second round 66 at the Fortinet Championship three weeks ago en route to an eventual 22nd place finish.
Malnati has played the Shriners Hospitals For Children Open three times since 2018. In those three tournaments just mentioned, Malnati has accumulated two top 15 finishes, including a fifth place result at the 2020 Shriners Hospitals For Children Open.
Additional golfers I like this week: Sungjae Im: Webb Simpson: Nick Watney: Adam Hadwin: Nate Lashley.
