2021 Butterfield Bermuda Classic: Winners and Losers
By Tim Letcher
Each week on the PGA Tour, there are players who exceed expectations and those who fall short of what is expected of them. Here at Pro Golf Now, we call them winners and losers. Here are the winners and losers from the 2021 Butterfield Bermuda Championship.
Winners
Lucas Herbert – He entered Sunday in third place but shot a solid 2-under par round of 69 to win by a shot. It was the first career win for the 25-year-old Australian in his 20th career start. He had never finished inside the Top 10 prior to this week.

Patrick Reed – His Sunday rally came up just short, as his 65 left him one shot shy of Herbert. Reed shot four rounds in the 60s but his final round got him from 17th place into second.
Danny Lee – He easily could have been the winner this week. He entered Sunday three shots behind but was in second, exactly where he finished after shooting a 71. Overall, a good week for Lee.
Scott Stallings – Shot the round of the week on Sunday with a 62. That big round allowed him to jump from 50th place into fifth.
Brian Morris – Yes, he shot 89-92 and missed the cut by a mile. But Morris’ story is much bigger than that. The pro from Bermuda played this week despite suffering from brain cancer, living out his dream. Well done, Mr. Morris.
Losers
Taylor Pendrith – He entered Sunday with a three-shot lead and was in good position to get his first PGA Tour win. But Pendrith shot 76 on Sunday to drop into a tie for fifth.
Dylan Wu – Heading into the final round, Wu needed to make something happen in order to get into the hunt. He was 9-under through 54 holes. However, he shot 77 to fall from 10th place to 46th. Ouch.
Danny Willett – Opened with 75 and followed that with 72 to miss the cut. That’s two missed cuts in three starts for Willett this season.
Beau Hossler – After a T16 to open his season at the Fortinet Championship, Hossler started this week’s event with a 78. He missed the cut, despite a 68 on Friday.
Jason Dufner – The struggles continue for Dufner. After missing 14 cuts in 29 starts last season, Dufner missed his first cut of the season this week.
