The PGA Tour heads to Mexico this week for the World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba. The field is fairly strong and there will be plenty of storylines all week. Here are the groups to watch on Thursday and Friday.

Abraham Ancer, Sergio Garcia, Carlos Ortiz – Ancer got his first PGA Tour win at the end of last season and will be playing in his native Mexico. Garcia has been much better over the past year. And Ortiz will also be among the home country favorites to win this week.

Lucas Herbert, Viktor Hovland, Patrick Reed – Herbert got his first PGA Tour win on Sunday and now finds himself in a group with a pair of Ryder Cuppers. Hovland is a talented young player who could break out at any point. Reed looked more like himself last week, finishing second to Herbert in Bermuda.

Tony Finau, Billy Horschel, Brooks Koepka – Finau has broken his winless drought and had a very solid Ryder Cup performance already this year. Horschel has played well of late and is looking more like the player who once won the FedEx Cup. Koepka is simply one of the best players in the world and is always a threat.

Rickie Fowler, Joaquin Niemann, Justin Thomas – Fowler has already gotten off to a better start this year than he did last season. Niemann is another of the game’s young guns who is capable of winning at any time. Thomas, like Koepka, is one of the best players in the game and will be one of the favorites this week.

Tyrrell Hatton, Martin Laird, Shane Lowry – A group of talented Europeans could provide some fireworks this week. Hatton is, without question, a Top 20 player in the world. Laird is solid and capable. And Lowry, while having a disappointing Ryder Cup, is still a quality player.
