This week, the PGA Tour travels to Sea Island, Georgia for the RSM Classic. Let’s take a look at the PGA Tour’s last full field tournament of the year from a fantasy golf perspective.

Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact lineup for a specific fantasy provider. Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Here are my fantasy golf/DFS player selections for the RSM Classic.

Webb Simpson

Since the beginning of August, Webb Simpson has played seven tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those seven events just mentioned, Simpson has accumulated four top 15 finishes, including a seventh place result at the Wyndham Championship.

Additionally, Webb Simpson has consistently produced quality results at the RSM Classic through the years. Let me be more specific. Simpson has played the RSM Classic six times since 2013. In those six tournaments just noted, Simpson has accumulated three top seven finishes, including a second place result at the 2019 RSM Classic.

Alex Noren

The 39 year old has accumulated five top 27 finishes in his last seven tournaments (PGA and European Tours combined), including an impressive fourth place result at the Northern Trust in August.

It should also be noted that Alex Noren finished tenth at the 2019 RSM Classic.

Danny Lee

Danny Lee arrives at this week’s PGA Tour event on the heels of two consecutive top seven finishes on the PGA Tour, including a second place finish at the Bermuda Championship last month.

Lee’s previous results at the RSM Classic have not been great. However, I am backing Danny Lee based on his outstanding current form and his recent quality results on coastal golf courses.

Matthew NeSmith

The 28 year old American certainly checks the box for me when it comes to previous course/event history. Matthew NeSmith has played the RSM Classic twice since 2019. In those two tournaments just mentioned, NeSmith has accumulated two top 15 finishes, including a 14th place result at the 2019 RSM Classic.

NeSmith fired a third round 65 at the Shriners Children’s Hospitals Open last month on his way to an eventual 14th place result.

J.J. Spaun

The 31 year old has accumulated two top 27 finishes in his last three tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a seventh place result at the Bermuda Championship three weeks ago.

I also like the fact that Spaun has performed well at this week’s PGA Tour event in the past. More specifically, J.J. Spaun finished second at the 2017 RSM Classic.

Additional golfers I like this week: Scottie Scheffler: Kevin Kisner: Adam Long.
