On the PGA Tour, there are players who are underrated and those who are overrated. In our latest series here at Pro Golf Now, we will take a look at which players fit best into those categories.

For our criteria, we are keeping it pretty simple. It’s all about winning, so the players will be ranked on how often they win in relation to how many starts they have made, with major championships taken into consideration. FedEx Cup finishes are also among the criteria.

After taking those things into consideration, the perception of a particular player will be considered. Finally, the opinion of yours truly will be the deciding factor.

Coming in at No. 9 on the underrated list is Brian Harman. A large portion of why Harman is underrated has to do with his size.

Standing just 5-7, Harman does not cast an imposing figure. However, he gets a lot of power out of his small frame.

Harman also is an outstanding wedge player and putter. He can make up for any distance deficit around the greens.

He has won twice during his PGA Tour career. He claimed titles at the 2014 John Deere Classic and at the 2017 Wells Fargo Championship.

Harman had a very solid season last year on the PGA Tour. He competed in 28 events and made 24 cuts along the way. He had 12 Top 25s and five Top 10s. He ultimately finished 41st in the FedEx Cup standings.

During his PGA Tour career, Harman has never finished outside the Top 100 in the FedEx Cup standings. His best showing came in 2017, when he made it to the Tour Championship at East Lake and ultimately finished 25th overall.

Harman is one of those guys of whom little is expected. But he’s also one of those guys who always seems to be hanging around the leaderboard. And he’s certainly underappreciated.
