Arnold Palmer Invitational: Sunday tee times, latest betting odds
Breezy and challenging conditions shook up the leaderboard on moving day at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and after an even-par round of 72 was considered a good score in the tough conditions on Saturday, things have really tightened up near the top.
Viktor Hovland who began the weekend with a two-shot lead quickly saw his stay at the top of the pile diminish on Saturday as he posted a 75 that resulted in a three-over-par round. It looked for a while like he might run away from the rest of the field when he chipped in for eagle earlier in his round, and then followed it up with another birdie shortly after. But a difficult back nine 40 for talented Norwegian ended any thoughts of that.
Instead, it was Billy Horschel (71), and Talor Gooch (72), who battled the elements and challenging conditions to stake their intent at the top of the leaderboard going into Sunday’s final round. Scottie Scheffler and Chris Kirk both tied for the round of the day with each posting rounds of 68, both players have positioned themselves nicely going into the final round.
With difficult conditions expected to continue into Sunday and the top ten on the leaderboard all within five shots of the lead, things are setting up for a very entertaining finish once again at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Billy Horschel is favored to get the job done at the Arnold Palmer Invitational according to the betting markets
(Billy Horschel +300)
Horschel has been quietly going about his business for the majority of this week after stating Thursday’s round with a flourish. Billy opened with a 67 on Thursday before posting back-to-back 71’s over the past two days. The consistent rounds under par have put him in a good position to win for the first since the BMW PGA Championship last September on the DP World Tour. He also won at the WGC Match Play in March of last year.
Horschel has made the cut in four of his last five starts at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, but last finished inside of the top 10 in 2017. He will be looking to win at Bay Hill for the first time on Sunday.
(Talor Gooch +350)
The talented Talor Gooch really kickstarted his PGA Tour career last November at the RSM Classic when he won for the first time on the PGA Tour. Since that time the Oklahoma State Cowboy has finished in the top 30 in four of his last six starts on Tour. He has made the cut in each of his past three starts at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and was 13th here in 2020.
Gooch opened with rounds of 69 and 68 over the first two days, before battling for a solid even-par round 72 on Saturday. The solid result in difficult conditions saw him maintain his position at 7 under for the tournament, a score that was good enough to climb the leaderboard during the third round after Hovland struggled down the stretch. Talor will be looking for a second PGA win in five months on Sunday, and one that would be by far the biggest of his young career thus far.
(Viktor Hovland +375)
Suddenly we are poised for a fantastic final round after Viktor Hovland faltered on the back nine on Saturday. One of the most talented young players on the PGA Tour found himself with a four-shot lead at one point during the third round, before it all evaporated in the blink of an eye.
Hovland has recorded three top-five finishes in three of his last four worldwide starts. This includes a win at the Dubai Desert Classic in late January on the DP World Tour. He has made the cut in all three of his appearances at Bay Hill thus far but is well-positioned going into Sunday to record his best ever result at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. A win this week would give Viktor his second win already in 2022 and would set him well on pace to break the three-win total he recorded in 2021.
(Scottie Scheffler +550)
The 2022 WM Phoenix Open winner made one of the biggest moves on the leaderboard Saturday after an impressive 68 placed him right in the mix going into Sunday. The talented 25-year-old has finished no worse than 25th place in four starts to begin 2022. After waiting a bit to record his first PGA Tour win, the 2020 PGA Tour rookie of the year could collect win number two in the span of less than a month.
