This week, the PGA Tour presents fantasy golf fans with the 2022 Valero Texas Open. A talented field of golfers will arrive in San Antonio hoping to win the Valero Texas Open as they prepare for next week’s 2022 Masters. Let’s take a look at this week’s event from a fantasy golf perspective.

Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact lineup for a specific fantasy provider. Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Here are my fantasy golf player selections for the 2022 Valero Texas Open!

Kevin Streelman

Kevin Streelman has accumulated three top 16 finishes in his last four tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a seventh-place finish at the 2022 Valspar Championship two weeks ago.

Streelman also checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. In relation to this week’s 2022 Valero Texas Open field, in the last three months of competitive golf played on the PGA Tour, Kevin Streelman ranks fifth in GIR (greens in regulation-63%) and seventh in driving accuracy (68.7%).

It should also be noted that Streelman has had success at this week’s PGA Tour event previously. Streelman finished sixth at the 2019 Valero Texas Open.

Gary Woodland

The 2019 United States Open champion has accumulated three top 21 finishes in his last four tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a fifth-place result at the 2022 Arnold Palmer Invitational earlier this month.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2022 Valero Texas Open field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Gary Woodland ranks second in strokes gained approach, 17th in strokes gained tee to green, and fifth in total birdies made.

Corey Conners

The talented Canadian arrives at this week’s 2022 Valero Texas Open on the heels of three consecutive top 26 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a third-place result at last week’s 2022 WGC-Dell Match Play Championship.

In relation to this week’s 2022 Valero Texas Open field, in the last four weeks of competitive golf played on the PGA Tour, Corey Conners ranks second in GIR (greens in regulation-70.08%) and eighth in scrambling (71.4%).

Conners also won the 2019 Valero Texas Open.

Kevin Chappell

The 34-year-old American fired a final round 66 at last week’s 2022 Corales Puntacana Championship en route to an eventual 15th place result.

Due to the fact that Kevin Chappell played so well at last week’s PGA Tour event, I decided to take a hard look at the player statistics for the event to see how Chappell fared relative to the field.

After four rounds of competitive play at the 2022 Corales Puntacana Championship, in relation to the field, Chappell ranked first in putting average (1.57) and seventh in driving distance (305.6 yards).

Next. Decade by decade, the best of the Masters. dark

Additional golfers I like this week: Jordan Spieth: Jhonattan Vegas: Brian Stuard.
