Fantasy Golf: 2022 RBC Heritage DFS Player Selections
By Hans Geevers
This week, the PGA Tour travels to Hilton Head, South Carolina for the 2022 RBC Heritage. Let’s take a look at this week’s PGA Tour event from a fantasy golf perspective!
Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact lineup for a specific fantasy provider. Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!
Here are my fantasy golf/DFS player selections for the 2022 RBC Heritage.
Matt Kuchar
Matt Kuchar arrives at this week’s PGA Tour event on the heels of two consecutive top 16 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a second-place result at the 2022 Valero Texas Open two weeks ago.
In relation to this week’s current listed 2022 RBC Heritage field, in the last eight rounds played on the PGA Tour, Matt Kuchar ranks ninth in birdie or better percentage, 18th in bogey avoidance, and fourth in scrambling.
Matt Kuchar also checks the box for me when it comes to previous event/course history. Let me be more specific. Since 2014, Kuchar has played the RBC Heritage eight times. In those eight events just mentioned, Kuchar has accumulated seven top 18 finishes, including a win at the 2014 RBC Heritage.
Billy Horschel
Since the beginning of January, Billy Horschel has played eight tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those eight events just mentioned, Horschel has accumulated an impressive six top 23 finishes, including a second-place result at the 2022 Arnold Palmer Invitational last month.
It should also be noted that Billy Horschel finished fifth at the 2018 RBC Heritage.
Kevin Streelman
Kevin Streelman fired a final round 68 at the 2022 Valspar Championship on his way to an eventual seventh-place finish.
In relation to this week’s current listed 2022 RBC Heritage field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Kevin Streelman ranks third in bogey avoidance, third in driving accuracy, second in scrambling, and 11th in strokes gained on par fours.
Kevin Streelman finished sixth at the 2019 RBC Heritage.
Dylan Frittelli
The 2019 John Deere Classic winner has been playing very good golf recently. Frittelli has accumulated three top 26 finishes in his last five events played on the PGA Tour, including an eighth-place finish at the 2022 Valero Texas Open two weeks ago.
In relation to this week’s current listed 2022 RBC Heritage field, in the last eight rounds played on the PGA Tour, Dylan Frittelli ranks 14th in scrambling, 16th in strokes gained approach, and 14th in scrambling.
Additional golfers I like this week: Dustin Johnson: Shane Lowry: Ian Poulter: Matt Fitzpatrick.
