This week, the PGA Tour presents the fantasy golf community with THE CJ CUP. An outstanding field of talent will travel to South Carolina in an attempt to win this prestigious tournament. Let’s take a look at this week’s PGA Tour event from a fantasy golf perspective!

Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact lineup for a specific fantasy provider.

Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

**THE CJ CUP is a four-round no-cut event. That means all 78 golfers in the field will play all four days. Keep that in mind as you construct your fantasy golf lineups this week.

Here are my fantasy golf/DFS player selections for this week’s CJ CUP!

Shane Lowry

The talented Irishman arrives at this week’s CJ Cup in rather good form. Let me be more specific. Shane Lowry has accumulated two top-12 finishes in his last three tournaments played (DP World Tour and PGA Tours combined), including a win at the BMW PGA Championship five weeks ago.

Lowry also checks the box for me when it comes to producing quality results at golf tournaments in South Carolina.

Since 2019, Shane Lowry has played five PGA Tour events in the state of South Carolina. In those five tournaments just noted, Lowry has accumulated an impressive four top-nine finishes, including a third-place result at the 2022 RBC Heritage in April.

Rory McIlroy

Since the beginning of July, Rory McIlroy has played seven tournaments (DP World and PGA Tours combined). In those seven events just mentioned, McIlroy has accumulated six top-eight finishes, including a win at the Tour Championship in August.

In relation to this week’s current listed CJ CUP field, in the last eight rounds played on the PGA Tour, Rory McIlroy ranks fourth in strokes gained tee to green, first in birdie or better percentage, and sixth in GIR (greens in regulation).

Sepp Straka

Sepp Straka has accumulated three top-six finishes in his last five tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a second-place result at the Sanderson Farms Championship earlier this month.

Matthew NeSmith

Full transparency, I backed Matthew NeSmith at last week’s ZOZO Championship. NeSmith rewarded me for doing so posting a ninth-place finish. I see no reason to get off the NeSmith train just yet. In summary, I think NeSmith continues to play well this week.
