Travelers Championship: Prize Purse and Payouts by Position
Breaking down this week’s Travelers Championship Purse, Prize money, and Payouts by position at TPC River Highlands.
The run of ‘elevated’ events with humongous purses and prize payouts is drawing to a close, well, at least in terms of regular PGA Tour events that received the special designation in 2023.
The 2023 Travelers Championship marks the final event outside of the upcoming 151st Open Championship, and the season-ending three FedEx Cup Playoff events, to be tagged with designated status this year. Come Sunday evening in Connecticut the thirteenth of seventeen elevated events will be in the books.
As with the majority of the marquee tournaments on this year’s PGA schedule, the 2023 Travelers Championship will feature a $20 million dollar purse, with this week’s winner at TPC River Highlands taking home a cool $3.6 million.
Local hero Keegan Bradley, who grew up in Vermont, will have a large portion of the crowd in Cromwell, Connecticut, on Sunday throwing their support behind him as he looks to win for the second time this season.
Rounds of 62-63-64 over the first three rounds has the fan favorite well on course to delight the local fans come Sunday evening. Bradley has accumulated an eye-opening 21-under 189 tally over the course of the first three days and he will take a one-shot lead over chaser Chez Reavie (-20) into Sunday’s final round.
Keegan won the ZOZO Championship last October to earn his first victory on tour in four years and on Sunday at the Travelers he will look to not only earn his sixth career win but also accomplish something he has not previously done, win after having slept on the lead.
Reavie presents his closest competition going into Sunday. Chez, who won this event in 2019, will look to deny the local hero Bradley and win at TPC River Highlands for the second time.
Both players have created some distance between themselves and the rest of the chasing pack heading into the final round. Patrick Cantlay (-16) finds himself five shots off the pace set by Keegan and will be hoping to capitalize should either of the two falter coming down the stretch.
As will a group at -15 that includes, Rickie Fowler who has rebounded nicely following his U.S. Open disappointment, Denny McCarthy, who opened his account at the 2023 Travelers Championship with a 60 on Thursday to set the early pace, and Adam Scott who is looking for his first PGA win since the 2020 Genesis Invitational.
Whoever walks away with the title on Sunday will take home a large share of this week’s 20 million dollar purse. Here is this year’s complete prize breakdown by position for the Travelers Championship.
