This Thursday, the first round of the 2023 Sanderson Farms Championship will begin. Let’s take a look at the first round of this golf tournament from a DraftKings/fantasy golf perspective!
Before I discuss my fantasy golf player selections I wanted to emphasize that the purpose of this article is not to provide an exact lineup for a specific fantasy provider.
Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a DraftKings GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!
Here are my fantasy golf DFS player selections for the DraftKings first round showdown contest.
2023 Sanderson Farms Championship: First Round Showdown Selections
Eric Cole $10,400
Eric Cole has accumulated five top 25 finishes in his last ten events played on the PGA Tour, including an impressive fourth-place result at the 2023 Fortinet Championship three weeks ago.
In relation to this week’s current listed 2023 Sanderson Farms Championship field, in the last eight rounds played on the PGA Tour, Eric Cole ranks fifth in strokes gained approach, first in birdie or better percentage, and seventh in strokes gained tee to green.
Adam Svensson $9,300
The talented Canadian has accumulated two top 15 finishes in his last three tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a seventh-place finish at the 2023 Wyndham Championship in August.
In relation to this week’s current listed 2023 Sanderson Farms Championship field, in the last 24 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Adam Svensson ranks ninth in strokes gained tee to green, fifth in DraftKings fantasy points scored, and tenth in birdie or better percentage.
Davis Thompson $8,200
Davis Thompson has accumulated four top 31 finishes in his last five events played on the PGA Tour, including a 24th-place result at the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic in July.
Thompson finished 35th at the 2021 Sanderson Farms Championship. Having stated that, I fully expect Davis Thompson to post a much better result at this year’s edition of the Sanderson Farms Championship.
