The PGA Tour returns Stateside this week for the 2025 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities. Coming off an exhilarating Open Championship, which culminated with Scottie Scheffler collecting his fourth major title in style, focus now turns towards the finishing stretch and the race for this year's FedEx Cup.

The 3M Open represents the penultimate event before the playoffs begin in two weeks in Memphis, and with the season winding down, players are jockeying for both PGA Tour status and playoff spots this week in Minnesota.

While Scheffler and some of the other big names in golf will rest up over the next two weeks, this week's event still boasts a relatively strong 156-man field headlined by Sam Burns, Wyndham Clark, Maverick McNealy, Tony Finau, Rickie Fowler, Adam Scott, and Scottish Open winner Chris Gotterup.

Recent winners of the 3M Open, Jhonattan Vegas and Lee Hodges, are also set to tee it up again in Blaine this week.

TPC Twin Cities, a 7,431-yard Arnold Palmer design that plays to a par of 71, has hosted the 3M Open since 2019 and annually provides a unique test of golf.

With the season winding down and valuable FedEx Cup points at stake this week in Minnesota, the 3M Open is set to deliver once again. Let's take a look at a few names who could stand out in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.

2025 3M Open picks and predictions

Top 20 pick for the 3M Open: Rico Hoey (+220)

Hoey returns to the 3M Open after making the cut in his debut at TPC Twin Cities last time around. Fresh off a T8 finish at the Barracuda Championship, Hoey comes into the week playing some fantastic golf of late with two finishes of 11th or better in his last three starts.

Ranked third in strokes gained off the tee and 26th in approach on the PGA Tour this season, the 29-year-old sets up well for TPC Twin Cities if he can just get a few putts to drop.

Sleeper pick for the 3M Open: Matti Schmid (+8000)

After withdrawing from the Travelers Championship in June, Schmid strung together some nice results overseas with a T7 finish at the BMW International Open and a T17 result in Scotland.

Finishing 69th at last week's Open Championship doesn't completely tell the whole story for the German, who was only undone by one bad round of 79 on Saturday at Royal Portrush, shooting rounds of 73, 70, and 70 across the other three days in Northern Ireland.

A runner-up at the Charles Schwab Challenge in May, Schmid has played well at the 3M Open in two previous visits, finishing tied for 20th in 2023 and tying for 12th last year.

Pick to win the 3M Open: Rickie Fowler (+4000)

Fowler returns to the 3M Open this week for the first time since 2022, having made the cut at TPC Twin Cities on both of his previous visits.

Rickie is having a solid year without having truly contended as of yet, but he has two top-20 finishes in his last two starts, including a T14 in Northern Ireland last week, which are positive signs for the six-time PGA Tour winner who will be looking for his first win this week since the Rocket Classic in 2023.

Pick to win the 3M Open: Jake Knapp (+4000)

Knapp withdrew from the 3M Open last year, but TPC Twin Cities is a locale that should suit his game perfectly, given his elite driving and putting skills.

Last year's winner of the Mexico Open is in good form coming into this week's 3M Open, having finished T27 or better in four consecutive starts, including a T4 finish in Detroit last month.

The 31-year-old, who played exceptionally well in Scotland in his last start, narrowly missing out on an Open Championship spot, has gained strokes both off the tee and on the greens in each of his last four starts and could be on the verge of earning his second PGA Tour win soon.
