The CJ Cup Byron Nelson marks the PGA Tour's return to Texas, but with a Signature Event and the PGA Championship up next, it's understandable that, outside of a few big names, this week's field at TPC Craig Ranch is not particularly strong.

That being said, world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth, Si Woo Kim, Byeong Hun An, Tom Kim, Sam Burns, and defending champion Taylor Pendrith are a few of the headline names set to tee it up at TPC Craig Ranch.

A host of names at the top of the board will look to make their way into the winner's circle for the first time in 2025, and at a locale where the winning score has been 23-under or better in each of the last four editions, players will need to accumulate birdies in bunches in order to contend.

It should be an entertaining week with plenty of fireworks, so let's dive into this week's PGA Tour picks and predictions for the 2025 edition of the CJ Cup Byron Nelson.

2025 CJ Cup Byron Nelson picks and predictions

Top 20 pick for the CJ Cup Byron Nelson: Alejandro Tosti (+280)

Tosti missed the cut with playing partner Joe Highsmith at the Zurich Classic last week, but had been on an absolute tear prior to New Orleans with three top-12 finishes in his last three starts, including both of his most recent visits to the Lone Star State (T5 Texas Children's Houston Open, T12 Valero Texas Open).

Despite a missed cut on his debut here last year, he has the perfect skillset for TPC Craig Ranch with his prowess off the tee and elite ball striking.

Top 10 pick for the CJ Cup Byron Nelson: Byeong Hun An (+240)

Byeong Hun An returns to the CJ Cup Byron Nelson having finished T14 and T4 in his first two trips to TPC Craig Ranch.

He's finished 21st or better in three of his last five starts, so the game is certainly trending upwards. If he has a good week with a usually cold putter, the South Korean could take home the trophy.

Sleeper pick to win the CJ Cup Byron Nelson: Davis Riley (+11000)

Riley came in ninth here in 2022 before finishing in a tie for 30th at last year's edition.

He and Nick Hardy tied for 32nd at the Zurich Classic last week, but Riley has been playing some solid golf since early March, thrice finishing 21st or better, including a seventh-place finish at the Valspar. Last year's winner of the Charles Schwab Challenge is trending in the right direction and could find himself in the winner's circle again soon.

Pick to win the CJ Cup Byron Nelson: Jordan Spieth (+1800)

Spieth missed the cut at last year's CJ Cup Byron Nelson but prior to that had recorded finishes of T9 and solo second at TPC Craig Ranch.

The three-time major champ has been quietly exceptional with the driver this season, gaining strokes off the tee in eight of nine starts, and comes in playing fantastic golf with five top-18 finishes since early February. Spieth hasn't earned a victory in more than three years now, but we like his chances in his home state this week.
