As the LPGA season is ending its final month, there is still much to play for. Most importantly, the CME Group Championship is coming around the corner. There are only three tournaments remaining before the top golfers compete to win the tour title. Many players are still on the bubble and could be looking to make waves in the final tournaments.

The Group Championship only takes the top 60 players who are ranked in the Race to CME Globe. Several notable players are in the top 50 to top 70 who could lose or gain a place in the tournament.

Currently, American golfer Bailey Tardy stands in 50th place. Tardy won the Blue Bay LPGA in China earlier this summer. The American received 500 points for victory.

Other notable players on the bubble are Minjee Lee (52), Gaby Lopez (59), Alexa Pano (63), and Anna Nordqvist (70). Lexi Thompson, who is playing in her final season on tour, is in a solid position at 40.

Alexa Pano dropped from 61st to 63rd place after finishing 72nd at the Maybank.

Pano recently had improved her chances after a top finish at the AIG Women's Open. She finished tied for 10th. Lee and Lopez have had up-and-down years but have played solidly enough toward the end of the season to have worked their way into the top 60.

Both Pano and Lee are set to play at the TOTO Japan Classic this weekend. The tour awards points for players who do make the cut; if a cut is a part of the weekend's play. Then points are awarded based on where they finish in the final round of the tournament.

For example, if Pano were to finish in 11th place in Japan, she would receive 70 points in addition to points awarded for her making the cut. Nordqvist more than likely would have to have at least one top 10 over the next three tournaments to move inside of the top 60 in the standings.

Competing in the final tournament of the year would be a huge step for many of the younger players on tour. It also would be a huge step in the right direction as they enter the short offseason and gear up for 2025.
