While Dustin Johnson has been one of the best overall players in LIV Golf since the Saudi-backed series officially became part of the golf landscape in 2022, the former world No. 1 has been on a steady decline over the past year.
In LIV's inaugural season, DJ was genuinely playing some of the best golf of his career (which is saying something), easily taking the individual championship after recording six top-five finishes in eight starts, including a win in Boston. His 4 Aces GC also won the team title that season.
While not quite as productive in 2023, Johnson was able to notch a second individual victory and ultimately finished fifth in the year-end standings.
But while he scored a third win in the second event of the 2024 season in Las Vegas, the 24-time PGA Tour winner failed to crack the top five in any of the 12 events that followed and didn't even place in the top 20 in seven of those starts. Nevertheless, Johnson somehow still finished 14th in the standings.
However, given the state of his 2025 campaign, Johnson is nowhere near the top 15 in this year's standings.
In the season opener in Riyadh, the two-time major champion tied for 44th, finishing 15 shots back of winner Adrian Meronk. A week later in Adelaide, he tied for 31st, finishing 13 behind champion Joaquín Niemann.
And this past weekend, Johnson literally hit rock bottom, as he finished dead last in Hong Kong.
Dustin Johnson finished last at LIV Golf Hong Kong and sits in 50th place in the individual standings
Johnson, now the 619th-ranked player in the world, was out of contention from the get-go, opening his week with a 5-over round of 75 at Hong Kong Golf Club at Fanling, putting him 12 strokes out of the lead after 18 holes.
He then found himself 18 strokes off the pace after 36 holes after a second-round 72, and while he showed signs of life in the third round with a 6-under 64, Johnson ultimately ended his week 19 shots behind winner Sergio Garcia.
Finishing 54th in a 54-player field at 1-over, the 40-year-old was the only player in Hong Kong to finish over par.
Through the first three events of the 2025 LIV Golf season, Johnson sits in 50th place in the individual standings, ahead of only Matt Jones, Luis Masaveu, Frederik Kjettrup, Talor Gooch, and Anthony Kim.
Johnson will look to rebound this weekend in Singapore.
