A historic run at The Masters has come to an end at the event's 89th edition for Adam Scott.
The 2013 winner at Augusta National came into this year's major having teed it up in every Masters since 2002, and like every player in this week's 95-man field, the Australian had dreams of donning the famous green jacket come Sunday evening.
Of course, while that is the goal for every player, simply making the cut at The Masters is an achievement in and of itself, which is something Scott has done with incredible frequency throughout his remarkable career.
Sitting alongside some of the all-time greats, including Jack Nicklaus, Phil Mickelson, and Nick Faldo, the 44-year-old has had tremendous success at Augusta, having made the cut at the year's first major an incredible 15 consecutive times, a feat only eight other players, including Tiger Woods, have bettered in Masters history.
Sadly, this historic run has come to an end.
Adam Scott's historic run at The Masters is over
After opening his 2025 Masters with a disappointing 5-over 77 on Thursday, the 2013 champ made a valiant effort to make another cut at Augusta National but ultimately fell a few shots short.
During his second round, Scott added two birdies to his tally early but dropped shots on the par-5 5th and the par-4 17th holes coming down the stretch proved costly. An even-par round of 72 means Scott will not be around for the weekend for the first time since 2009.
So, where does Scott's incredible run at The Masters rank exactly, and who has made the most cuts throughout their career at the historic major? Let's take a look.
Most consecutive cuts made at The Masters
As mentioned, Scott had made 15 consecutive cuts at The Masters coming into the week. Here is a look at the most consecutive made cuts in Masters history.
Player | Consecutive Cuts Made | Years |
---|---|---|
Tiger Woods | 24 | 1997-2024 |
Fred Couples | 23 | 1983-2007 |
Gary Player | 23 | 1959-1982 |
Tom Watson | 21 | 1975-1995 |
Bernhard Langer | 19 | 1984-2002 |
Gene Littler | 19 | 1961-1980 |
Billy Casper | 18 | 1960-1977 |
Phil Mickelson | 16 | 1998-2013 |
Bruce Devlin | 15 | 1964-1981 |
Jack Nicklaus | 15 | 1968-1982 |
Adam Scott | 15 | 2010-2024 |
Ben Crenshaw | 13 | 1980-1992 |
Nick Faldo | 13 | 1979-1996 |
Raymond Floyd | 13 | 1973-1985 |
Corey Pavin | 13 | 1985-1998 |
Justin Rose | 13 | 2003-2018 |
As you can see, Scott ranks tied for ninth on the all-time list alongside Bruce Devlin and Jack Nicklaus.
Tiger leads the all-time list, with 24, after famously breaking the record previously held by Fred Couples and Gary Player at last year's Masters.
Scott had made 21 cuts in 23 appearances at The Masters ahead of this year. And while that is an impressive feat, he has a bit more work to do if he wants to crack the all-time list for the most made cuts at Augusta National, a record held by the great Jack Nicklaus at an astonishing 37.
