LIV Golf sent 16 players to the 2025 PGA Championship—well, 15 and a reserve anyway, as John Catlin is used as a fill-in on occasion. And while Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm, and Joaquín Niemann fared well at Quail Hollow Club, all finishing in the top 10 behind winner Scottie Scheffler, those three were effectively all the Saudi-backed series had to be excited about.
For starters, half of the LIV players in the field failed to make the cut, a list that included six major champions. And most weren't even close to the 1-over number needed to play the weekend.
- John Catlin: +3 (74-71)
- Patrick Reed: +4 (72-74)
- Dean Burmester: +6 (74-74)
- Cameron Smith: +7 (78-71)
- Martin Kaymer: +8 (78-72)
- Phil Mickelson: +9 (79-72)
- Brooks Koepka: +9 (75-76)
- Dustin Johnson: +12 (78-76)
Outside of the trio mentioned at the top, Richard Bland, Tom McKibbin, Tyrrell Hatton, David Puig, and Sergio Garcia made it through to the final 36 holes, but none of those five were ever a threat to hoist the Wanamaker Trophy.
Niemann was never a genuine threat either, but the Chilean star undoubtedly has to feel encouraged by the fact that the week marked his best-ever finish in a major championship. Having never finished higher than a tie for 16th (2023 Masters) in his 23 previous major starts, Niemann shot a final-round 68 at Quail Hollow to climb into a tie for eighth at 4-under.
Rahm made a serious charge on Sunday and even found himself tied with Scheffler for the lead at 9-under after making birdies at Nos. 10 and 11 to open his back nine. But Quail Hollow's famed "Green Mile" hit the Spaniard hard, as Rahm went bogey-double bogey-double bogey to close out his round, joining Niemann in a tie for eighth at 4-under.
For the third time in the last four majors, DeChambeau was the top LIV Golf finisher, tying for second alongside Harris English and Davis Riley at 6-under. Bryson actually held the solo lead on Saturday for a brief time, but the "Green Mile" clipped him as well, as the reigning U.S. Open champ went 3-over on the final three holes to close his third round.
DeChambeau was able to get within a few shots of Scheffler on Sunday, but Scottie flipped a switch on his final nine and ultimately cruised to a five-shot victory.
Here are the final results for the eight LIV Golf players who made the cut at the 2025 PGA Championship.
