It's been almost three years since Jordan Spieth won on the PGA Tour. He can hope that 2025 will be different and see him claim his 14th win and more this season.

His start to 2025 could indicate that he is once again due for his next win. In two tournaments at the beginning of the year, he has made both cuts.

In his opening tournament at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, he finished in a tie for 69th. He did post a final round 67 on the ever-important Sunday. It was a bogey-free round and gave him confidence entering the WM Phoenix Open.

Last week, Spieth finished in a tie for fourth. All four of his rounds were in the 60s and rounds two and three were bogey-free.

It was his best finish since the Sentry a year ago, where he finished in sole possession of third. If Spieth can continue to gain confidence it would be very plausible to see him back in the winner's circle soon.

He currently ranks 21st in approach to the green with a value of 0.695. He also ranks fourth on the PGA Tour in bogey avoidance with a 9.03% average.

What comes next for Jordan Spieth?

He has been working on improving many aspects of his game since last season. That includes his golf swing, and a big factor was the wrist surgery he had a year ago.

Spieth spoke with reporters after his third round at the WM Phoenix Open saying: β€œIt's a long road ahead. This is certainly ahead of schedule for this week. I've had a good history here, so we'll see how I continue to progress on other courses."

He teed it up at the Genesis Invitational this week. His best result at the tournament was in 2021 when he finished in 15th place.

He failed to make the cut the last two years at the event and would have been hoping to change his fortunes this time around. Spieth, however, will hope that the work on his swing and the momentum he gained at the WM Phoenix Open pays dividends going forward.

Jordan Spieth's name has been on top of the leaderboard his entire career, another strong opening to the year could be a sign of things to come.
