Beloved NFL star takes his talents to the golf course
Next month, Pro Bowl star receiver for the Las Vegas Raiders Davante Adams, will be featured on the Netflix series, Receiver. Adams has been a star since entering the NFL in 2014. He also has been featured in several Pro-Ams and has supported many players on both the PGA and LPGA Tours.
Last year, Adams played in the 2023 American Century Championship, joining other NFL players such as Travis Kelce and Baker Mayfield. During the event, Adams finished T76th in the tournament with All-Star NBA player Steph Curry taking the title.
In April, Davante Adams was spotted on the golf course again.
He paired off in a two-man team scramble with other NFL stars. This event was held concurrently with the LPGA tournament, the T-Mobile Match Play at Shadow Creek. The event saw Nelly Korda take home the trophy, winning her fourth in a row. Adams posed for a photo with Korda after the game and posted it on his Instagram highlighting Korda's accomplishment.
In January of 2023, Adams also teed off for a practice round with Major champion and six-time winner on the LPGA Tour, Danielle Kang. The LPGA posted a picture of the two enjoying their practice round together.
Both times Adams was on the Shadow Creek Golf Course with the LPGA players. The golf course is only 30 minutes away from the Las Vegas Raiders stadium. The Raiders moved to Vegas from Oakland in 2020.
The American Century Championship also featured other Raider's legends, Tim Brown, Jerry Rice, and Charles Woodson. All three are Hall of Famers and Adams, once he retires will join them in the Hall. Adams stated that he was learning from Rice, who is considered one of the greatest players in NFL history, about how to keep his composure on the golf course.
He could stand to learn a little about adversity and composure on the golf course from both Kang and Korda as well.
