Cognizant Classic payout distribution 2024: Winner's payout, prize earnings
The newly-minted Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches marked the first event of this season's 'Florida Swing' on the PGA Tour.
While the tournament rebrand may have been new in 2024, the host venue, PGA National, has long been a staple on the tour's calendar. The well-respected locale in the tour's annual rotation played unusually easy for the professionals on day one of this year's championship but as the week went along PGA National began to show some teeth once again.
Even without signature status this year, the event under new sponsorship managed to entice a relatively strong field of competitors to Palm Beach Gardens. Two years after the heartache of losing the event on the final hole as the heavens opened up, Irishman, Shane Lowry found himself in contention once again after a sensational 5-under 66 on moving day.
Following his runner-up finish to Sepp Straka in 2022 and another top 5 finish at PGA National last year, a case could be made the Irishman was most deserving of finally reaching the winner's circle at this venue. However, Lowry would have his work cut out for him if he was to finally claim victory at the Cognizant Classic after he shared the lead with two others heading into the final round.
Both Austin Eckroat and Englishman, David Skinns, would head into Sunday hoping for their own breakthrough at PGA National, while a host of others behind the leading trio were by no means out of the running. It was all set up for an exciting finish at this year's Cognizant Classic.
Every player who advanced to the weekend was guaranteed to come away from this year's event with a substantial payday and those who found themselves in contention were set to be rewarded handsomely for their efforts this week at one of the tour's iconic Florida venues.
Let's take a look at exactly how much they were playing for this year, including the winner's share and payout distribution for the 2024 Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches.
Cognizant Classic: 2024 Prize purse and winner's share
The Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches purse is set at $9 million for 2024 with the champion at PGA National taking home a little over $1.6 million in prize money; just under 20% of this year's overall prize purse.
The prize purse for the Cognizant Classic is on par with what we saw at this year's Farmers Insurance Open ($9 million) and slightly above what was on offer at TPC Scottsdale last month for the 2024 WM Phoenix Open ($8.8 million).

Outside of the Players Championship, signature events, and majors in 2024, the Cognizant Classic purse ranks on the higher-end of regular PGA Tour events this year,
In addition to securing their place in each of this season's five remaining signature events (if not previously exempt), the winner of the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches is awarded 500 FedEx Cup points in the season-long race to East Lake and the 2024 Tour Championship this autumn.
The PGA Tour remains in Florida next week for the fourth signature event of the season, the 2024 Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard at Bay Hill.
