WM Phoenix Open payout distribution 2024: Winner's Payout & Prize Earnings
Every year the WM Phoenix Open delivers unparalleled drama and excitement as hordes of passionate fans descend upon TPC Scottsdale for the world's largest party at a PGA Tour event.
Despite finding itself sandwiched between two Signature Events this time, the WM Phoenix Open resumed its status as one of the most anticipated events of the year with some of the sport's biggest stars returning to the Valley of the Sun again in 2024.
Nine of the world's top 20-ranked players made the journey to the desert for this year's WM Phoenix Open and come the end of play on Saturday, six of them were well-placed to make a charge at the leader going into Sunday.
Last year's RBC Canadian Open winner, Nick Taylor, produced a scintillating 11-under 60 to set the early pace after round one. This despite the early stoppage of play at TPC Scottsdale on day one. The Canadian had once again found himself in contention at the WM Phoenix Open, this coming after finishing runner-up to eventual winner Scottie Scheffler here last year.
Taylor held a one-shot advantage heading into Sunday with big-name chasers including, Jordan Spieth, Wyndham Clark, Justin Thomas, and Scottie Scheffler well within striking distance.
Even without the Signature Event status in 2024, this year's WM Phoenix Open was still set to reward the top 65 players and ties who made the cut at this year's championship with a significant payday. Let's take a look at how much the players in this elite field were playing for in 2024, including the winner's share and payout distribution at TPC Scottsdale.
WM Phoenix Open: 2024 Prize purse and winner's share
The purse for the WM Phoenix Open is set at $8.8 million for 2024 with the tournament champion taking home a little over $1.58 million in prize money; a little under 20% of this year's overall purse.
This is right on par with what we have seen in other non-signature events during the early portion of the 2024 PGA Tour season, including at the Farmers Insurance Open ($9 million) two weeks ago and the Sony Open in Hawaii ($8.3 million) at the beginning of the year.

While not the same size of purse that will be for grabs at some of this year's Signature Events, PLAYERS Championship, and Majors, the WM Phoenix Open's $8.8 million purse ranks on the higher-end of regular event purses in 2024. In addition, the event provides opportunities for players to earn their way into Signature Events this year along with all the perks awarded to a winner on the PGA Tour.
Not only did the WM Phoenix Open champion take home a cool $1.58 million this year, they also earned 500 FedEx Cup points in the season-long race to East Lake and the 2024 Tour Championship in August.
The PGA Tour returns to the iconic Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles, California, next week for Tiger's event, the Genesis Invitational; the third Signature Event of 2024.
