FedEx St. Jude Championship winners and full list of past champions
The 2024 FedEx Cup Playoffs are officially underway with the first of three events taking place this week in Memphis, Tennessee, at the 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship. With a field of 70 being trimmed to 50 next week, some of the world's best golfers are jockeying just to extend their season for another week and in the process keep the dream of FedEx Cup glory alive just a little bit longer.
While the FedEx Cup Playoffs and all that entails will garner all of the headlines this week, and understandably so, whoever emerges victorious at TPC Southwind will make some history along the way to East Lake in a few weeks' time. The 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship winner will assuredly cement their place at the Tour Championship while at the same time also etching their name in the history books of this historic event that has taken place at several different locations throughout its history.
First established as the Westchester Classic in 1967, the tournament has gone by several different names with multiple title sponsors since its inception. The tournament has played host to the first event of the FedEx Cup Playoffs every year since 2007 and was previously known as The Barclays and The Northern Trust until the event moved to Memphis in 2022 for the first time and became the FedEx St. Jude Championship. It had previously been played in the Northeastern part of the country every year before moving down south.
Dating back to 1967, a handful of illustrious names including the great Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer have won this famous event throughout their careers. But who else has won the tournament now known as the FedEx St. Jude Championship? And how many have won it on more than one occasion? Let's take a look.
Who was the last player to win the FedEx St. Jude Championship?
In 2023, Lucas Glover became the 57th champion in tournament history. Glover became just the second winner of this event since it moved to Memphis in 2022 following in the footsteps of Will Zalatoris who won in dramatic fashion in 2022. Like Zalatoris, Lucas Glover emerged victorious after winning a playoff at the FedEx St. Jude Championship. The now six-time PGA Tour winner defeated Patrick Cantlay on the first hole of the playoff for his second win in as many weeks after having previously won at the Wyndham Championship the week before.

While by no means one of the longest-running tournaments going, the FedEx St. Jude Championship has witnessed seven different players win on multiple occasions throughout its history. The great Jack Nicklaus (1972, 1967), Seve Ballesteros (1988, 1983), Ernie Els (1997, 1996), Sergio Garcia (2004, 2001), and Patrick Reed (2019, 2016), have all won on two different occasions with Patrick Reed being the most recent player to have joined the illustrious list of multiple-time tournament champions.
Only two players in tournament history have won more than two titles, Dustin Johnson (2020, 2017, 2011) and Vijay Singh (2008, 2006, 1995, 1993). Johnson was the most recent player who was already a multiple champion to add another win at this event in 2020, while Vijay Singh became the tournament's all-time winningest player when he claimed an unprecedented fourth title at this event in 2008.
