RBC Heritage payout distribution 2024: Purse, winner's prize money
There was no rest for the weary this week at the RBC Heritage as the PGA Tour resumed normal service with its fifth signature event of the year. The short trip to Harbour Town came right on the heels of the Masters.
The RBC Heritage has traditionally followed a grueling week at prestigious Augusta National, though seldom has the event attracted such an elite field. The past couple of years it has, thanks to its elevated status as one of the marquee tournaments on the schedule and the significant purse that comes with said status. It may be the first signature event to follow in the footsteps of a major in 2024, but it certainly won't be the last.
As has been the case in the majority of signature events this season, the best players in the world have risen to the top more often than not and this week at Harbour Town was no different. Masters champion and World No.1 Scottie Scheffler fired off consecutive rounds in the 60s, including an emphatic 8-under 63 on moving day, to take control at the top of a leaderboard once again heading into the final round.
Per PGA Tour Communications, Scheffler's 54-hole lead at this year's RBC Heritage was his 12th 54-hole lead or co-lead since he first joined the tour during the 2019-20 season; the most for any player during that span.
A handful of players including, Sepp Straka, Collin Morikawa, Ludvig Aberg, Sahith Theegala, Patrick Rodgers, and Patrick Cantlay, to name a few, were within several shots of Scheffler's lead going into the final round at Harbour Town. The chasing pack would attempt to deny the World No.1 what would be an astonishing fourth win in his last five starts.
Whether it was Scottie Scheffler, or the competition looking to derail his remarkable run, the winner of this season's fifth signature event would take home not only a jacket (of the tartan variety) but a handsome winner's share from this year's massive purse at Harbour Town. Let's take a look at the RBC Heritage payout distribution and everything to know about this year's purse and prize money in South Carolina.
RBC Heritage purse 2024: Total purse and winner's prize money
As the fifth of eight signature events on the PGA Tour this season, the RBC Heritage purse for 2024 is set at $20 million with this year's champion set to take home a massive $3,600,000 winner's share; 18% of this year's overall prize purse. This matches the other signature event purses this season and last week's record-setting Masters prize purse. The RBC Heritage purse for 2024 comes in only behind THE PLAYERS Championship in terms of largest prize purses divvied out thus far this season with the Top 11 finishers at Harbour Town this year each earning over $500,000 for their efforts.

The PGA Tour returns to Louisiana next week for the 2024 Zurich Classic of New Orleans at TPC Louisiana.
