WM Phoenix Open 2024: Top 10 power rankings at TPC Scottsdale
No, Wyndham Clark didn’t jump to the LIV Tour, but he did just win a 54-hole, no-cut event.
The final round was washed out at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, which allowed Clark to claim the title.
He deserved it after firing a course record 12-under-par 60 Saturday at Pebble Beach. The Coloradan opened the tournament with even-par 72 at Spyglass Hill and added a 67 Friday at Pebble.
In his two rounds at Pebble, Clark led the field in Strokes Gained: Putting (6.917).
Clark is poised to continue his success at the WM Phoenix Open. The 30-year-old has made the cut in three of his last four appearances at TPC Scottsdale. He posted his best finish at this event last year, recording rounds of 68-67-70-69 for T-10th.
The former Oregon Duck was fourth in the field in SG: Around-the-Green (4.151) and eighth in SG: Approach (4.463).
The Scottsdale resident is no stranger to desert golf.
“It's a fun week for me,” Clark was transcribed by ASAP Sports in 2020. “I have a lot of friends here, I live here, so it's a home event. But at the same time I feel really confident about my game and I'm looking forward to the weekend.”
Clark is seeking his fourth top-40 in as many starts thus far in 2024.
This season, the 2023 U.S. Open champ ranks sixth on the PGA Tour in SG: Total (1.985) and 10th in SG: Off-the-Tee (.904). He’s also seventh in birdie average (5.57).
