Zurich Classic of New Orleans payout distribution 2024: Purse, winner's prize money
The 2024 Zurich Classic of New Orleans presented PGA Tour professionals with a much-needed break following consecutive big events over the last two weeks; one of which being the season's first major. A week of team golf in the Bayou state was the perfect recipe. Even with its place on the schedule, coming on the heels of two big-time events this season, the Zurich Classic still attracted what was arguably one of the events' strongest fields in recent memory.
One of the star tandems at this year's Zurich Classic of New Orleans was that of Ryder Cup pairing Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry. World No. 2 Rory McIlroy, who was making his first appearance at the Zurich Classic this season, and his partner, 2019 Open champion Shane Lowry, rose to the top of the leaderboard early in the week and never looked back after opening with a scintillating 11-under 61 in best-ball format during round one.
A 2-under 70 in alternate-shot format on day two, and a bogey-free 64 in best ball again on moving day, had the dynamic duo well within striking distance of the leaders heading into the final round. Team McIlroy/Lowry, and a handful of other teams within a couple shots of the leaders, would attempt to close the gap on the leading tandem of Zac Blair and Patrick Fishburn during the final round of this year's Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
Former BYU teammates, Blair and Fishburn, would look to follow in the footsteps of last year's Zurich Classic champions, Davis Riley and Nick Hardy, and earn their first career PGA Tour wins at the team event in Louisiana after the pair surged to the top of the leaderboard on moving day following an emphatic round of 12-under 60.
Whether it was a dynamic team looking for their first PGA wins, or stars such as McIlroy/Lowry looking to deny them the victory en route to their own title in the Bayou, the winners of this year's Zurich Classic of New Orleans were guaranteed to walk away with a handsome winners' share from this year's prize purse at TPC Louisiana. Let's take a look at the Zurich Classic payout distribution and everything to know about this year's purse and prize money in New Orleans.
Zurich Classic of New Orleans 2024: Total purse and winner's prize money
The Zurich Classic of New Orleans purse for 2024 is set at $8.9 million with this year's winning team at TPC Louisiana set to pocket a collective $2.572 million winner's share; a cool $1.286 million each and a little under 30% of this year's overall prize purse. While not on the same scale as this season's major championships and signature events, this year's Zurich Classic purse sees an increase from the $8.6 million that was divvied out last year and is greater than some of the other non-elevated prizes already dished out this season; including at the WM Phoenix Open ($8.8 million) and Valspar Championship ($8.4 million).
