My preseason diagnosis of Kevin Kisner being the personality hire of TGL is probably the most right I've been on a golf prediction since I bet Scottie Scheffler to win the 2022 Masters at 30-1. Man oh man, was that performance by Jupiter Links BAD. To get embarrassed like that in any fashion is terrible, but to let it happen in front of the home crowd like that? I think Jupiter Links is lucky there's no relegation in TGL because I don't see any hope for them this season. Their best highlight was a skulled bunker shot that would've hit either the screen or fans if it didn't hit the flagstick! What are we even doing here with this team? Tom Kim is not going to be their savior, their only chance to win a match this year may be against New York.
5. New York GC (no change)
Steve Cohen needs to take some of the magic that helped power the Mets to the NLCS last year and bring it over to New York GC. Bring Grimace out into the SoFi Center! Have the Hawk Tuah girl show up for a match! They already have a pop star on the team! It's right there! The one positive is that New York is no longer the holder of the largest loss in TGL history, and that Rickie looked like 2004 Vijay Singh compared to Kevin Kisner. However, this positive may get wiped out by New York being the first recipient of a TGL shutout.
Xander's withdrawal from the AMEX and the Farmers Insurance for "medical reasons" casts some doubt on how much we end up seeing him in TGL play throughout the rest of the year, which means the Bronx Bomber Cameron Young is going to have to step up in his absence and play hard for his hometown team. Young did his best, but New York just seems to be a little overmatched right now, with no extra support or backup plan in sight until Xander comes back.
