PGA and LPGA Previews and TV Schedules, June 16-19
By Todd Brode
Snapshot previews and tv viewing schedules for this week’s PGA and LPGA events, the US Open and the Meijer LPGA Classic.
PGA and European Tour action this week is focused on Oakmont and the US Open. The LPGA players are catching their breath after their grueling Sahalee test of skill and endurance. They’ll be playing the Meijer LPGA Classic in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
We have snapshot previews and tv viewing schedules for both events – our way to help you keep up with another week of great golf action.
The PGA TOUR will hold its second major of the year at the Oakmont Country Club just east of Pittsburgh, PA in a little town called Oakmont. Defending champion Jordan Spieth will lead the field into the 116th U.S. Open. Spieth defeated Dustin Johnson and Louis Oosthuizen in last year’s Open at Chambers Bay Golf Club by one stroke to pick up the win. There is a tremendous field set to tee off on Thursday morning hoping to hold the trophy on Sunday evening.
While you wait for tee time you might enjoy Sam Belden’s look-back – he’s captured 20 memorable US Open triumphs. It’s a pleasant trip down golf’s memory lane.
Be sure to check out our Top-10 Power Rankings – they could help you pick the 116th US Open winner this year – and our Top 5 Fantasy Golf Picks – which will help you put your team together. We also have specific line-up suggestions for all the major fantasy golf games and you won’t want to miss our fantasy factsheet that suggests who you may want to put on the bench this week.

You may remember that Thompson denied Gerina Piller her first LPGA win last year by one stroke. Piller will be back and looking for the win. With 7 top-10s so far this season, Gerina Piller is certain to be in contention on Sunday, but she’ll probably have to battle the emerging “Big Three” on the Tour, Lydia Ko, Brooke Henderson, and Ariya Jutanugarn.
There is a stellar field on hand in Michigan this week and the Meijer LPGA Classic begins a 3-week run-up to the US Women’s Open at CordeValle, so expect many in the field to be tweaking their games and getting ready for the Tour’s 3rd major.
Check out the Meijer LPGA Classic field breakdown and our suggested Pick-4 lineup so you can set your roster at Ladies Dream Golf.
