GolfStat is ranking Jessica Korda at 26th among Tour players, well below Michelle Wie. But I see Korda delivering a more consistent game than Wie. She’s only recorded two top-10s this season but with the exception of a missed cut at the Kia Classic and a low finish at the Kingsmill Championship, she’s recorded seven top-15 finishes in 10 starts.

Korda’s game is in predictably good form for this point in the season. She’s struggling a bit with accuracy, so if you’re following her keep an eye on her tee-to-green play because if she runs into trouble that’s where it will happen. She’s very competent with her flatstick, ranking 12th on the Tour in putts per round, and that’s going to give her a big boost this week.

Korda wants to go to Des Moines. She missed making the 2015 Solheim Cup team and said at the time it was her poor play that kept her off the team. She’s not going to make the same mistake twice. When Jessica Korda is in the field, depend on her delivering the very best game she has in her bag. Korda could contend this week.
