More from Fantasy Golf

Immelman is, without doubt, the most experienced player on my team and also the most accomplished. He’s the only team member who’s won a major championship, the 2008 Masters.

Immelman has gone up against some of the best in the game – Justin Rose, whom he defeated at the 2007 Nedbank Golf Challenge (his most recent win) – Tiger Woods, whom he defeated at the 2008 Masters – Padraig Harrington, whom he defeated at the 2004 Deutche Bank.

Immelman’s best playing may be in the rearview mirror. He hasn’t made a cut since the Tshwane Open in April. But there’s no question that he knows how to manage Dundonald Links, so he brings a unique combination of experience and potential to the Scottish Open that makes him a very attractive fantasy pick, particularly given his salary level.

The Scottish Open, which is often used as a final tune-up for The Open but has integrity and autonomy independent of The Open, attracts a very mixed field. Picking a viable fantasy team is something of a balancing act, finding the best value of experience, promise, and current game for the right price.  I hope these tips help you pick a winning team this week!
