2017 RBC Canadian Open: Top five sleepers at Glen Abbey
The day is coming where Campbell doesn’t qualify for a sleeper anymore. Considering his play much of this year, I wouldn’t be surprised for that to come in the very near future. And this week, things are lining up almost as well as possible for him to jump out of that category.

Since missing the cut at The PLAYERS Championship, Campbell has made six of seven cuts, and has finished in the top-25 five of those times. That included top-ten showings at the FedEx St. Jude Classic and the Greenbrier Classic. His actual scoring average for those 26 rounds is 68.65, and he’s broken par for 11 rounds running. That’s solid, no matter where you’re playing.
Statistically, Campbell should be in line for continued success at Glen Abbey. It’s a ball-striker’s haven, and Campbell fits the bill, ranked 18th on the PGA TOUR in driving accuracy (68.22%) and 14th in greens-in-regulation percentage (69.34). His putting has been off this year, but he’s clearly worked out the formula, finishing in the top-30 in each of his last three trips to Glen Abbey.
Could this be the week that Campbell finally breaks through? Don’t be surprised if it is.
